Penthouse, the popular purveyor of adult content, will launch the world’s first 3D TV adult television channel in Europe. This new 3D TV station will broadcast full 3D in high definition, streaming 30 hours of salacious stuff monthly, say a company spokesman. The network’s original, adult oriented programming will include both soft core and hard core feeds.

Marc Bell, CEO of Friend Finder Networks, the parent company of Penthouse Media Group said, “We are very excited about the launch of the Penthouse 3D TV channel, our goal is always to deliver the latest technology on the world’s best platform.” It will soon have more company as arch rival Hustler Magazine said last month that it was preparing a branded HD channel that would also support some 3D TV programming. That channel will debut in Europe in March on the Hotbird satellite. Penthouse appears to be ahead of the game as they started shooting in 3D this past summer, and have already invested significantly to perfect 3D TV production quality.

Marc Bell had said in early January when he announced the channel’s launch that consumer excitement for 3D TV content is high, and Penthouse is the one studio that can rely on its broad expertise in the adult content market to deliver 3D TV in a manner unmatched by any other branded entertainment company.
